What Makes Volvo The Safest Cars?

Since their beginning in 1958, the Volvo name has been associated with the word Safety”. Starting with their three-point belt that we know as a seat belt to the rear facing first child car seat. There has never been any doubt that that Volvo has always had the safety of those who purchased their cars and rode in theirs first and foremost in mind. In 1998, the head airbag and the whiplash protection system are a Volvo design which was just another indication how serious Volvo is about safety.

Continuing on with that tradition, the Geneva Motor Show would be the place where Volvo introduced their "Active High Beam" technology in 2013. This technology allows drivers of Volvo to drive with high beams that work in conjunction with small cameras in the rear view mirror and facing forward. When oncoming traffic is detected by those tiny cameras, they adjust automatically so the high beam isn't blinding to oncoming traffic. This allows the driver of the Volvo to keep a better vision as well.
